Our Surf Programs are what Salt Spray Surf School specializes in! We want you to experience more than just a Surf Lesson. We want to embed you into Ōhope’s Surf Community.
Salt Spray Groms are the cool kids at School. Book your Grom into our 7 Week After School Program in either Term 4 or Term 1. Sessions run on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Plenty of options to fit your busy kids schedule!
What about the Wāhine? Ladies we have you covered, join our ladies progressive surf program and live out your dreams of finally learning to ride the waves.
SCHOOL HOLIDAYS!!! Always a headache to sort out activities for the kids. Leave them with us for the day and they will return a full blown beach bum… in the best way possible.

Afterschool Groms $248
The best After School Program in all of Whakatane and Ohope!
One session a week, every week for 7 weeks!
For ages 6+, get your Grom in the waves with us and watch their love for surfing explode!
Runs in Term 4 and Term 1 each year.
Ladies Program $255
Looking for your new summer hobby?
Wish you learnt to surf once upon a time?
Nows the time to learn! It’s never too late to learn to ride the waves!
7 week progressive program, runs in October – November or February – March.
Mondays class are for Beginner level Surfers (0 – 1 years experience)
Saturday class are for intermediate surfers
School Holiday Program $85
A full day of Surfing, Beach Education and FUN!
Ditch the kids with us for the day and when you pick them you will have a brand new Ocean Addict on your hands.
Our Holiday Programs run in between term 3 & 4, the week before Christmas and sometimes in April (Water temperature dependent)
